Summer Vacation!!
Description
Well, Morro Bay was an absolute BLAST!! We got there on Friday night (this was back in June, but I’ve been really busy!) and the first couple of days were pretty cool – jeans and sweatshirt kind of weather. We went shopping, to the local museum of natural history – which was completely kid friendly and fun! – and hung out around the campfire in the evening, ‘marshing’ (you know, marshmallows on sticks!).
Things warmed up a bit on Sunday or Monday – and we all got a little red! My mom, sis-in-law and I found a really cute yarn shop in Atascadero and spent a lovely morning there trying not to drool on all the lovely yarns she had! The guys got to play golf a few times and we spent two full, lovely, glorious days on the beach! We spent one afternoon at the ‘windy’ beach to fly kites, but it was so windy that my little ones had a hard time thinking it was a lot of fun – once you get wet, hanging out in the wind gets a little too cool!
We shopped on the Embarcadero, had food at the outdoor restaurant there (great clam chowder in the bread bowl!), and just enjoyed the scenery and the company. We had dinner one night at the marina restaurant — fresh seafood! We had dessert there the next night…I don’t think I’ve ever seen such huge pieces of pie! We also bought fresh seafood from a local stand and cooked it back at camp that night — delicious!
The girls made a few new friends, my niece and nephew learned to play gin rummy, and we all had a really good time just hanging out with each other!
There are lots of pictures, and a lot of great memories! (just click on the picture below to see our vacation)
